Background Information
Banihal-Sangaldan section (48 km) was dedicated to the nation by Honble PM on 20-02-24. Works on remaining Katra-Sangaldan section (63 km) are in an advanced stage of completion. This section includes 14 main tunnels and 5 escape tunnels wherein mining of both main and escape tunnels has been completed. Now, 639m of lining in MT is balance out of a total scope of 43.33 km, in challenging geology of Tunnel T-33 and T-42. More than 61 km of track linking has been completed out of the total scope of 67 km. Only 1 bridge remains out of the total 33 bridges. Total 4 stations are in between Katra- Sangaldan section. All stations completed.
