Present Status/Major activities completed during February 2024:
KAPP-3: The first largest indigenous 700 MWe Unit started operation at full capacity from August 30, 2023.
KAPP-4:
The important milestone of First Synchronisation with the Grid is achieved on February 20, 2024. This will be followed by power raise and commencement of Commercial Operation with progressive clearances from AERB. Physical progress of the unit as on end February 2024 is 99.10%.
Hon’ble Prime Minister, Shri Narendra Modi dedicated Units 3&4 of Kakrapar Atomic Power Station (KAPS-3&4) to the nation on February 22, 2024.
| Present Status/Major activities completed during July 2023:
KAPP Unit-3: The Unit commenced commercial operation with effect from June 30, 2023.
KAPP Unit-4: A Major milestone ‘Turbine Generator (TG) on Barring Gear’ has been achieved. Final box-up of Condensers is completed. Various commissioning activities are in progress. This will be followed by major critical milestones i.e. Fuel loading, approach to First Criticality, First Synchronisation with the grid and finally Commencement of Commercial Operation, all with progressive clearances from AERB. Physical progress of the unit as on end July 2023 is 97.56%.
