Present Scope work involved in the Tender: Based on preliminary structural design submitted by IIT Madras, preliminary/ball park estimate has been prepared for an amount of Rs. 209.01 crores for the following works related to flood mitigation measure at Chennai Airport:
1. Modification of storm water Drains (part of long term plan) – 4700 m of length to be modified
2. Supply and placing of Flood barriers (part of immediate action) – around NAV AID Units and Terminal Building
3. Redesigning & Strengthening of Compound wall (part of long term plan) – 4 km length to be re-strengthened
4. Miscellaneous works like providing Sluice gate in all drains outlet to Adyar river, Digital water level recorders (Radar type) etc. (part of immediate action)
