Background Information
Bardhman - Katwa work, has been commissioned on 30.12.2017. Subsequently the following material modification works were sanctioned :- 1. Katwa – Bazarsau (30.59 km) doubling - Work was sanctioned in 2011-12 and cost of the project is Rs 256.63 Crs. Section Tenya to Gangatikuri (13.25 Km) - Commissioned on 30th March’2019. Section: Katwa - Gangatikuri (10.36 Km.) – Commissioned on 17.05.2021. Balance section Tenya – Bazarsau (6.98 Km) – Targeted for commissioning in 2021-22 and work in progress. 2. Katwa - Manteswar (34.40 km) new line - Work was sanctioned in 2011-12 and cost of the project is Rs 256.20 cr.- Work could not be started due to non availability of land. However the work has been kept in abeyance by Railway Board, vide letter 2019/W- /Genl./Budget/1, dated 24.09.2019. 3. Negun-Mangalkot (8.60 km) new line - Work was sanctioned in 2011-12 and cost of the project is Rs 82.11 cr. - Work could not be started due to non availability of land. However the work has been kept in abeyance by Railway Board, vide letter 2019/W- I/Genl./Budget/1, dated 24.09.2019. 4. Manteswar - Memari (35.60 km) new line - Work was sanctioned in 2011-12 and cost of the project is Rs 251.50 cr. - Work could not be started due to non availability of land. However the work has been kept in abeyance by Railway Board, vide letter 2019/W- I/Genl. /Budget/1, dated 24.09.2019.
