Background Information
Ghutiarisharif – Canning (14.05 KM Doubling) The work is sanctioned in 2009-10 and Anticipated cost of 66.26 Cr. has been completed and commissioned on 25.09.2012. for balance MM works-works could not be started due to non availability of land. State Govt. being pursued for that. Subsequently the following material modification works were sanctioned :- 1. Canning – Bhagankhali (4.84 KM) New line – Sanctioned year in 2009-10 and cost of the project is Rs 123.71 cr. Work could not be started due to non availability of land. 2. Bhagankhali – Basanti (14.30 KM) New line – Sanctioned year in 2011-12 and cost of project is Rs. 208.46 crore. FLS completed. Land plan sent to ADM/LA for land acquisition. No progress due to non availability of land as 73.64 Hectare of land is to be acquired. Work could not be started due to non availability of land.Work has been kept in abeyance by Railway board, vide letter No. 2018/W-II/ER/Misc/12, dated 02.11.2018 having no tangible benefit. 3. Basanti – Jharkhali ( 23 KM) New line – Sanctioned year in 2011-12 and cost of project Rs. 212.60 crore. FLS completed. Land plan sent to ADM/LA for land acquisition. No progress because non availability of land as 81.2 hectare land needs to be acquired. State Government is being chased up. Work could not be started due to non availability of land.Work has been kept in abeyance by Railway board, vide letter No. 2018/W-II/ER/Misc/12, dated 02.11.2018 having no tangible benefit.
