Background Information
Assistance Required from Board:- Till now, no land has been given by Govt.of Meghalaya though Railway has deposited Rs. 209.37 Crs. to DC/Ri-Bhoi District in March 2017. There is acute Law and Order problems created by Khasi Students Union (KSU). They are not supporting the Railway Line coming into Meghalaya with the apprehension that it will increase the influx of out siders. GM/CON/NFR met Chief Secretary/Meghalalya on 17.06.2021 and Honourable CM/Meghalaya on 14.07.2021. However, there is no progress for want of land.
