| Land between Km 16.80 to Km. 18.60 including Biratnagar Yard handed over by Nepalese Authorities on 03.11.2019. Now 100% land is available for the project.
-78% earthwork, 82% Blanketing, all three major bridges and 27 out of total 29 minor bridges completed.
- Track linking completed in Bathnaha - Nepal Custom Yard section including freight trains.
An estimate of Rs.238.83 Cr. for the work was sanctioned by Railway Board in June’ 2010. Revised estimate of Rs.373.87Cr. was sanctioned by Railway Board during June’16. Revised estimate was discussed in meeting of Revised Cost Committee nominated by MEA on 15.01.2021. R.C.C suggested to recast the estimate for balance work at current market rates.
Accordingly, revised estimate of Rs. 401.65 Cr. was submitted by Railway to MEA for approval on 26.03.2021. However, estimate was not processed due to non-handing over of land by Govt. of Nepal between Km. 17.40 to Km. 18.60 Biratnagar Yard(Nepal).
As advised by MEA during meeting held on 23.11.2023, the estimate has further been revised to Rs. 485.96Cr. and submitted to NFR on 16.02.2024. NFR approved Revised Estimate of Rs. 484.59 Cr. and submitted to Railway Board on 29.11.2024 for further submission to MEA for sanction.
