Background Information
3rd line work commissioned between Dankuni & Bally only, as it is not feasible to provide 3rd line between Bally &Liluah. Dankuni – Bally (6.15 km) is commissioned on 13.08.2018. Subsequently the material modification works were sanctioned :Dankuni – Jongalpara – Furfura Sharif (20 km) new line : The work sanctioned in year 2009-10 at a cost of Rs. 147.49 Cr. FLS completed. Work being executed by RVNL. 226.542 acres of land required to be acquired. Work could not be started due to non availability of land. However the work has been kept Frozen by Railway board, vide letter 2018/W- II/ER/Misc/12, dated 02.11.2018 having no tangible benefit.
