| Project has cost sharing with Uttarakhand State on 50:50 basis. This project falls in two states, Uttar Pradesh (UP) and Uttarakhand (UK). Out of total length of 27.45 Km of this project, 17.13 Km falls in UP and 10.32 Km falls in UK. Eviction of structures and demolition is in progress (70 percent) in UP. In Uttar Pradesh, award of Private Land (88.31 Ha) & utilities of all 14 villages has been declared. Land award declared from May 2018. Approx. Rs. 130.97 Cr has been disbursed out of Rs. 214.86 Cr deposited by Railway. Possession of land of 8 villages in Oct-20 and 5 villages in Dec-20 and 1 village in Feb-21 has been given to Railway. Thus, possession of land of all 14 villages (88.31 ha) has been given. Though the possession of land has been given but still there are 65 nos. of structures which are required to be demolished mostly in the village of Noorpur, Deoband Andre Hadood and Chakrambari in order to have encumbrance free land. State administration has to take necessary action for eviction. In Uttarakhand, physical possession of land was taken in four villages i.e. Rahimpur, PaniyalaChandapura, Bhistipur&Salahapur on 03.07.2019 & 04.07.2019 with the help of force. Earth work started in three villages i.e. PaniyalaChandapura, Bhistipur&Salahapur. But again, work was stopped by the villagers on 15.08.2019, since then work has stopped. Villagers in these four villages of Uttarakhand stopped Railway work in demand of enhanced compensation or job in railway to one member of the affected family. Railway has cleared their stand and requested to take necessary action as per rule, state administration has assured necessary assistance with help of force to get the work started, however, it has been requested for necessary action for amicable settlement.
