Background Information
DE for 3873Cr was submitted to Board on 22.07.15. It is forwarded to NITI Aayog for In Principle Approval on dt.09.10.15. In between Board vide letter dt. 29.6.17 has advised that 3rd/4th lines to developed as per DFC standards. Vide letter dt.22.11.19 Board has again advised that projects will be developed as normal railway standards. Updated detailed estimate for a value of Rs.4483.19 Cr submitted to Board on 27-04-2020 and board observation on 09.06.20 replied on 13.07.2020. Railway Board vide their letter dtd. No.2021/W2/SCR/DL/11 Pt. (FTS-3352730) DTD. 10.5.2021, has advised that the project is deferred due to new DFC i.e East Coast dedicated freight corridor from Khargapur to Vijayawada which covers the traffic requirement.
