Background Information
TVC-NEM- TDC- Dec 2026. Land acquisition in progress NEM-NYY - TDC-Dec 2026. Land acquisition completed. work in progress NYY-PASA-TDC- Dec 2027 LA completed. Major bridge no.74-2x18.8 7 1x12.2 PSC u girder work is completed except protective work. PASA-ERL- TDC-Sep 2025 LA completed. Earthwork, Major Bridge and minor bridge works are in progress within available Rly land. The Commissioner of Railway Safety, Bengaluru has inspected and certified the newly doubled track for a length of 19.26 Km between Nagercoil Town and Kannyakumari, as part of Thiruvananthapuram-Kannyakumari doubling project and accordingly the 19.26 Km track has been opened for traffic w.e.f 01.04.2024. In other sections between Thiruvananthapuram and Nagercoil Town, land acquisition is in progress.
