| •The project envisages the construction of a double line between Jhansi-Khairar-Manikpur & Khairar and Bhimsen & Chord line at Mahoba and Khairar, which would speed up the operation of goods and coaching trains and provide additional capacity for meeting the increase in traffic in future.
• At this level of capacity utilization, operations on the section have already reached saturation. In a scenario of demands for introduction of more passenger trains and increasing rail borne freight traffic requiring the running of goods trains, creation of additional line capacity by way of upgradation of signalling, removal of level crossings etc might bring down the line capacity utilization. However, since introduction of additional services on the section without appropriate capacity augmentation measures will only slow down operations and make the section a bottleneck, the double line between Khairar-Bhimsen section is imminent and inescapable.
