1. Railway board has been sanctioned Final Location Survey (FLS) for New BG Line for Kodingamali Mines to Singaram Station Railway Station (On KR Line ) on dated 21.10.2021.
2. Accordingly, tender has been finalized for conducting FLS from Kodingamali mines to Lakshmipur Road Railway station as on dated 09.12.2021.
3. Simultaneously, parts of Survey works have been completed and alignment of about 9.4Km has been finalized and found technically feasible for Kodingamali Mines to Singaram station on KR line.
4. Railway Board vide Lr.No. 2022/W/ECoR/DPR/03 dated 26.08.2022 sanction the DPR for Kodingamali-Singaram New BG rail Project@ the cost of RSW 190.90 Crores.
5. After sanction of this project, in order to complete balance survey works i.e. pegging along the alignment Geotechnical investigation along alignment and at Bridge locations, survey teams were deployed. But the people of Biriguda villagers are obstructing and resisting for conducting the survey works and not allowing any staff to take up survey works.
6. The issue has also been discussed on telephone and also during meeting with Collector & Magistrate/Koraput and he was also requested to help to resolve the issue in order to complete the balance survey works.
7. However, vide letter no.460/Res.2022 dated 21.07.2022 district Collector/Koraput mentioned that the discussion are going on with villagers of Biriguda and project authorities by the State Government on the demand of local public regarding setting up of Aluminum project in the area. At this juncture, the proposed survey work of Kodingamali Mines to Singaram Station for new BG line may lead to a law and order situation in the area. Hence, the above survey work may be postponed till resolution of the issue.
8. Hence the above survey work may be postponed till resolution of the issue. Advised to CRC vide letter dtd 12.08.22 and sent necessary advisory to home department. Recently, meeting held with Collector on 12.06.2023, he said that the issue is yet not resolved and further advised to meet Thasildar LKMR. Met Thasildar LKMR and requested for resolving the issue. Met collector on 02.11.2023 and he said the issue of set up of factory in the lands had approved by the Govt of Odisha and it would be declared soon and once the factory issue is resolved, hopefully villagers would not object for Railway line.
