Background Information
Naihati – Kalyani 3rd line (10.37 Km) :Commissioned on 20.03.2023. Balance Section: Kalyani – Ranaghat 3rd line (25.17 Km) : Targeted in 2025-26. Physical Progress -15%. The Project is practically on hold & no work is going on due to dispute in Railway land boundary, owing to number of court cases & several public Notices. General Manager/ER has written a letter on 30.10.2023 to Chief Secretary, West Bengal to verify State Govt old records and carry out necessary corrections in their record as per correct Rly land plan. Meeting with Land Reform & Rehabilitation commissioner on 29.11.2023 & DC/Nadia held on 30.11.2023, 09.02.2024 & 22.03.2024 respectively to sort out the matter. Meeting with ADM/Nadia held on 15.07.24 to sort out the issue. Issue has been flagged in PMG portal also. Meeting with Secretary/Land Reforms & Rehabilitation Commisinoner done on 06.08.2024, with Transport Secretary on 28.11.24, with ADM/LR/Nadia on 02.12.24 & 19.12.24 and with Addl. Secretary/ Land /WB on 17.12.2024 regarding correction of ROR. CALA has been appointed by State Govt on 02.01.2025. Recently a meeting held with Chief Secretary, WB & General Manager, ER for early correction of Land Records. Last PMG meeting on this subject was held on 21.03.2025 where State has ensured for correction of land records by June’2025.(i)Naihati – Kalyani 3rd line (10.37 Km) : Commissioned on 20.03.2023.
